The Somerset Hills YMCA relies on the generosity of members, staff, friends and other individuals as well as support from corporations and foundations, to further its Charitable Mission. Income from gifts, grants and a modest endowment fund a financial assistance program that annually provides more than $625,000 in aid to area residents who would not otherwise be able to fully afford the cost of participating in the organization’s programs. When you make a gift, you reaffirm your belief in our mission of service and demonstrate your concern for and willingness to help your neighbors.
Ways to Give:
Tribute and Memorial Gifts You can make a gift to the Somerset Hills YMCA by honoring or memorializing someone in your family, a friend or a community member. Contributors may make a Tribute Gift to the Somerset Hills YMCA in honor of a birthday, wedding, anniversary, graduation or special achievement. A Memorial Gift may be made in loving memory of a deceased relative or friend. The honored person, or the family of the deceased, receives a personal card stating that a contribution has been made in his or her name to the Somerset Hills YMCA.
Outright Gifts Cash or outright gifts that support the YMCA’s Capital projects and Endowment are large, usually $10,000 or more. Such gifts may be designated for specific purposes or may be restricted.
Gifts by Will A wonderful way to make a significant gift to the YMCA is to include the Y as a beneficiary in your will. This enables you to retain control and use your assets during your and your spouse’s lifetimes, yet still have the satisfaction of making a major gift and have your estate enjoy possible tax savings.
Gifts by Charitable Trusts The creation of such a trust involves the gift of assets to the YMCA now, while you retain an interest in their value that produces regular income for you and/or your spouse during your lifetime(s) or a set period of years.
Beneficiary Designations You may have assets, such as life insurance, that were purchased when you needed protection, or an IRA that was funded for retirement. Now, years later, you may determine that you no longer need them for those purposes. You may benefit from tax considerations by designating the Somerset Hills YMCA as the beneficiary.
Gift Annuities A gift annuity is an agreement between an individual and the Somerset Hills YMCA in which you transfer assets to the YMCA in exchange for fixed payments to you for your lifetime or the lifetime of another person.
Gifts of Property such as Real Estate, Automobiles or Boats Gifts of property such as primary or vacation residences, commercial property, automobiles or boats can be made during your lifetime as an outright gift or can be conveyed by bequest.
Gifts of Securities Individuals who own securities can receive a number of benefits by conveying this stock to the Somerset Hills YMCA.
All donors will be listed in the Somerset Hills YMCA Annual Gift report.

Matching Gifts Many companies will match gifts made to charitable organizations such as the Somerset Hills YMCA.
