Riverwalk is a welcoming environment for teens. We offer classes that are alternative in nature to help you find balance in Mind, Body & Spirit:
- Yoga
- Mat Pilates
- Yogalates
- Strength and conditioning
- Sculpt
- Core classes
Orientations are given to all teens wishing to learn how to use the cardiovascular and strength equipment the correct way. If you are 13 years or older, you are able to workout solo in the facility, but please be safe and arrange an orientation before starting any wellness program.
Yoga
Yoga classes are offered as a fee based instructional class. Classes are offered at all three locations and can be participated in by purchasing a Yoga Card at the Welcome Center of any location. The class cards are $60/for members; $90 for MUJC members and $120/non-members, for 10 classes. The individual is responsible for bringing their card to class and an instructor will punch the card. Schedules can be found online.
Class Etiquette:
- Bring your Yoga punch card to class. Individuals cannot attend class without a card, no exceptions
- During class you may store your belongings in the locker room
- Wear comfortable clothing that allows your body to move freely
- It is best to practice without jewelry and watches. Also turn off your cell phone and leave it with your other things
- Arrive for class on time, if not 5 minutes early, so you have time to settle down before class. If you need to leave class early please tell the instructor before the class starts.
Personal Training
Available for individuals wishing to train for sport specific activities or wanting to reach specific goals with assistance and one-on-one attention.
The body undergoes changes at specific times in one’s life cycle and during the teen years is one of the first of these changes. Yoga is specifically designed to meet all the needs of a changing body. The benefits of Yoga are far reaching and are best experienced young in life so as to carry their internal knowledge with the body throughout one’s life cycle.
Benefits include:
- Body: Develop strength & flexibility, enhances coordination of both mind and body, improves sleep, strengthens immune system & improves digestion.
- Mind: Improve focus, calms the mind, enhances memory & reduces stress and anxiety
- Spirit: Build self esteem, develops discipline and self control & inspires respect for self and others
